Glenn T. Carberry practiced law for three years in Washington, D.C. with the national firm of Hogan and Hartson before returning home to Norwich, Connecticut. Currently the managing partner of TCORS, Mr. Carberry advises companies and developers on business development projects and other commercial matters, and represents telecommunications companies and other businesses in proceedings before regulatory agencies, including the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control.Education
Mr. Carberry attended Norwich public schools and graduated from the Norwich Free Academy in 1972, where he received the Silverman Scholar-Athlete Award. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude from Gettysburg College in 1976 and he served as a congressional intern to Senator Hubert H. Humphrey. Mr. Carberry received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1979, where he was a comment editor of the Law Review. Professional Memberships/Associations
Mr. Carberry was admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia in 1979 and in Connecticut in 1982. He was a Republican candidate for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 1988 and 1992. He has spoken on legal and governmental issues to various groups, including the New England Association of Regulatory Commissions and the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Carberry was named as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the field of land use, and was recognized as a Connecticut Superlawyer in the area of public utilities. Community Involvement
For over twenty-five years, Mr. Carberry has been a leader of numerous civic and community organizations in Eastern Connecticut such as the Norwich Free Academy, the Eastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, the American Cancer Society, and Support Our Troops Committee. Mr. Carberry was principally responsible for recruiting the Connecticut Defenders, the Double A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, to Norwich in 1994 and obtaining $9.8 million in state, local and private funding for the construction of Dodd Stadium in Norwich.
Mr. Carberry was named the Citizen of the Year by the Eastern Connecticut Chamber in 1995, and was awarded the Distinguished Community Service Award by the Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Connecticut in 1996. Carberry was awarded the Kaptina Community Service Award by the Norwich Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. He is active in advocating programs for children with special needs and has also written dozens of articles on economic development topics and governmental issues for state newspapers. Carberry has also written law review articles on administrative law and governmental contracts issues.
