Profile
Prior to joining the firm as a regulatory analyst in 2004, Mr. Sweeney was a municipal land use and environmental planner for Norwich, Connecticut and served as a team leader for the city’s aggressive redevelopment efforts.  Currently an associate attorney at TCORS, Mr. Sweeney advises companies and developers on major development projects and other commercial matters.  He also represents clients in proceedings before various regulatory agencies involving zoning and land use, wetlands and environmental, gaming, and liquor licensing issues.

Education
Mr. Sweeney grew up in Canton, Connecticut and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science.  He also attended the University of Vermont where received a Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Planning in 2000.  Mr. Sweeney graduated first in his class from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2009.  During his law school career, he was the recipient of the prestigious William F. Starr First Year Award, CATIC Foundation Real Property Award, Lexis Nexis Law Publishing Award (twice), and CALI Award for both Moot Court and Real Estate Transactions.

Professional Memberships/Associations
Mr. Sweeney is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Planning Association.  Mr. Sweeney also formerly served on the Executive Board of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association.
