Profile
Mr. Nessler has concentrated on intellectual property law for over 20 years.  Previously, he was engaged in general practice of law; he was a patent attorney for United Technologies; and, he was an executive responsible for managing technology agreements at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.   His current lawyer work primarily involves patent, trademark, copyright, licensing, business agreements, and related matters.  With his assistance, clients have obtained numerous trademark registrations, and they have received numerous U.S. and foreign patents, including patents for electromechanical devices, document processing, waste water treatment, laser devices, snow makers, boating devices, material compositions, materials handling, and manufacturing processes. Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. Nessler worked as a mechanical, chemical and materials engineer, and he operated a small manufacturing business.  

Education
Mr. Nessler holds a bachelor of arts degree and a masters degree in engineering, both from Dartmouth College, with various honors. He holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Connecticut.  He received various academic honors and a fellowship.  

Professional Memberships/Activities
Mr. Nessler is admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut, of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and various federal courts including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a registered professional engineer in Connecticut.  He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is co-author of a several engineering papers, is a member of various engineering associations, and is active in pro bono legal work and local civic matters.
