Profile F. Jerome (Jerry) O’Malley served with the Chief State’s Attorney’s Office in Connecticut for five years prior to joining the firm in 1983. While there, he was principally responsible for prosecuting white collar crimes. Mr. O’Malley has successfully argued before the Appellate and Supreme Courts of Connecticut, tried numerous cases in state and federal court, and has defended clients before state agencies in regulatory proceedings, including the Department of Labor, Department of Revenue Services, and Department of Consumer Protection. Mr. O’Malley is a member of both the Mashantucket and Mohegan Tribal Courts and has also represented Casino employees before their respective gaming commissions. Additionally, he has had extensive experience in the mediation and arbitration of disputes, ranging from employment discrimination and intellectual property matters to uninsured motorists and construction claims. He also represents management in collective bargaining and labor relations issues.Education A graduate of Holy Cross College, Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude, Mr. O’Malley obtained his law degree from the University of Connecticut in 1978. Professional Memberships/Associations Mr. O’Malley is a member of the New London County, Connecticut and American Bar Associations, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and is admitted to the Bar in Connecticut, the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut and U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. He formerly was certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in civil trial practice. Community Involvement Residing in Mystic with his two children, Mr. O’Malley has served as President of the Mystic Community Center and on the Board of Directors of the Mystic Marine Life Aquarium, the American Heart Association and the Stonington Charter Commission. He served as New London County Co-chair of the annual Campaign for Justice, the principal fundraiser for Connecticut Legal Services, which provides free legal services to the poor, from 1994 to 2006. He also coached youth soccer and basketball in town recreational leagues and served on various school committees for curriculum and public funding.
