The firm counsels individuals and businesses on a wide spectrum of employment matters, including compliance with numerous State and Federal workplace laws, employment contracts, wage guidelines, severance and release agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, trade secret and inventions agreements, and employee handbooks and personnel policies, and labor issues.  TCORS has also handled many employment matters before the State and Federal Departments of Labor, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other state and federal agencies, as well as the Connecticut Superior Court, Appellate Court and Supreme Court, and the federal courts.  These matters have concerned a wide range of employment claims by employees of private companies, municipalities, and state and federal agencies, including wrongful termination, breach of contract, overtime and wage claims, sex harassment, and age, disability, gender, race, sexual orientation and other forms of discrimination, pension and other employee benefits. We also represent management in collective bargaining negotiations, the mediation and arbitration of contract grievances, and the defense of unfair labor practice claims.
