Waterford native Emily Casey was recently named partner at the New London-based Law Firm of Tobin, Carberry, O’Malley, Riley, and Selinger.
Emily joined the firm in 2013 where she’s worked primarily in the healthcare law section of the firm. Since the implementation of the Official Connecticut Fee Schedule for Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgical Centers in 2015, Emily has represented hospital clients at numerous hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Commission relating to the issue of the correct reimbursement of hospital bills.
“We are excited to have Attorney Casey join us as a partner; it is a well-earned recognition of her contributions to the firm. We look forward to working with her as we continue to build the next generation of TCORS attorneys,” said Managing Partner Kristin Wainright.
Emily received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Emily worked as a consultant for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in connection with a criminal investigation conducted by the Southern District of New York of a suspected major stolen antiquities dealer. From 2004 to 2009, Emily was a contract archaeologist and worked as a crew chief for a cultural resource management firm.
“All of the partners at TCORS are thrilled that Emily Casey will be joining the firm as a partner. She is a very dedicated and diligent attorney and a great person. She has done a fabulous job here managing work for a number of Connecticut hospitals involving underpayment of workers’ compensation bills. She is well liked by everyone who works with her including opposing attorneys, staff at our office and clients. She will be a great addition,” said Partner Robert Tobin.
Emily is a resident of Groton where she lives with her husband and daughter. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the New London County Historical Society as secretary. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Connecticut and the Avery-Copp House Museum. She is active with the Yale Alumni Association and is a member of the Young Professionals of Eastern Connecticut. She volunteers for the New London Community Meal Center.
“I am excited to join the partnership. I look forward to this new chapter and continuing to represent our clients to the fullest,” said Emily.
