The TCORS Family joined together to assist local nonprofits with their mission of providing continued support to its community members this holiday season. The two organizations in recent recipient of our support included the Gemma E. Moran United Way Food Center and Safe Futures.
Contributions were gathered throughout the month of November from staff members as well as the Firm and donated to the food center in time for Thanksgiving. Our contributions were able to purchase around 970 pounds of food, which translates into about 808 meals for local families. According to their website, the food center distributed the equivalent of 1.9 million meals and snacks to more than 80 food pantries, shelters, child care centers, community meal sites, and programs for the elderly last year alone.
Keeping with tradition, our staff adopted a family from Safe Futures on behalf of the Firm and outfitted them with holiday gifts and household essentials. Safe Futures is an organization based out of New London that helps those impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault in southeastern Connecticut. This year our adopted family was a mother and her five-year old daughter. Our staff worked together to provide mother and daughter with a brighter holiday.
