Charles practices primarily in the area of Copyright, Domain Name/Cybersquatting, Intellectual Property, Licensing Agreements, Patents, Trademarks and Trade Secrets.
For more than 20 years, Charles has focused his concentration on intellectual property law, specifically patent, trademark, copyright, licensing and business agreements. Before joining TCORS, he was a patent attorney for United Technologies; and was an executive at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, responsible for managing technology agreements.
As a patent attorney, Charles has worked with clients to obtain numerous trademark registrations, as well as various U.S. and foreign patents, including patents for electromechanical devices, document processing, waste water treatment, laser devices, snowmakers, boating devices, material compositions, materials handling and manufacturing processes. Prior to graduating from law school, he worked as a mechanical, chemical and materials engineer, and operated a small manufacturing business.
Charles is admitted to the bar of the State of Connecticut, of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Court of Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a registered professional engineer in Connecticut.
